The availability of high quality and flexible manufacturing subcontract services is increasingly important in an era when outsourcing and vendor reduction are essential parts of modern, efficient and streamlined production processes.
To meet this demand Quadrant Connections, a company renowned for manufacturing and distribution of high quality cable assemblies and components, has increased its capacity to supply expert subcontract services by setting up a new manufacturing company in Slovakia.
Quadrant offers a wide range of subcontract services that include: kitting, RF testing, over-moulding, panel and box build and drawing and design. Both the capacity and capability of these services have been increased significantly since the formation of a new manufacturing operation in Slovakia that was opened last year. Known as Quadrant Connections Slovakia, the new subsidiary is based in Presov, the country’s third largest city, and employs 40 people. It is equipped to the same high standards as the Radlett headquarters, and provides a wide ranging manufacturing capability in a lower cost environment serving both UK and overseas customers while providing support to Quadrant’s growing customer base in Eastern Europe.
Quadrant’s experienced and expert production team has many years experience of small to medium panel or box building and the company is accredited to BS EN ISO9001:2008 quality standard and staff are trained in accordance to IPC 620C workmanship standards.
The Quadrant kitting service is personalised to meet customers' specific requirements and operates from both its UK headquarters and the Slovakian manufacturing plant. The latter is ideally placed to act as a European hub and provide packing and distribution services in mainland Europe.Services range from sourcing products and packing with customer labels, code 128 or PDF 417 bar-coded labels to re-reeling cable to match customers supply needs.
Marine antenna control box enclosures, metal bracket assemblies holding delicate radio base station equipment, slice and interface panels and 19" rack mounted panels equipped with PCBs and many different types of connectors are just some of the panel and box build tasks that Quadrant has undertaken recently.
Quadrant’s team can design from scratch or improve existing panel designs using the latest AutoCAD 2D and 3D software and using Adobe Acrobat and .STP/.IGS/.DWG conversion. An extensive range of slice panel and 19" panel cable assemblies have been designed to meet customer requirements using standard zinc passivated steel or the latest aluzinc plated steel metal work.
Quadrant has extensive experience in high quality over-moulding and with its own over-moulding machines with the capability of using low pressure hot melt or high pressure thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), any small to medium design can be undertaken. Quadrant has a long history of proven, high tolerance over-moulding for equipment in the medical and telecommunication industries.
Bespoke test facilities include passive intermodulation at 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz, RF testing to 40GHz and four-terminal continuity and high voltage testing are used to test, print and validate your testing requirements.
In addition to the services above Quadrant also has a high level of expertise in precision cutting, stripping, reeling and printing directly onto the cable using several Schleuniger machines completing a comprehensive and highly skilled sub-contract capability.
