Commencing on May 1st, Murata Power Solutions will implement phase one of the PCN program which will give customers the opportunity to register to receive PCNs and Product Discontinuation Notices / End of Life (EOL) notices.
Customers registered to the program will receive detailed email notifications. They will have the option to receive details of changes to all Datel DC/DC converters and Panel Meters, or to limit the notices to specific types / families of products, or even just a single product.
Receiving PCN notices will ensure that customers are kept completely informed and updated regarding specifications when considering Datel products for their equipment designs.
Phase two of the program, currently planned for a Q3 launch, will provide the ability to search for part numbers and related changes via a secure and easy-to-use self-service web site. PCNs will be searchable by part number, notification type, and product category, with additional attributes that can be customised to suit particular customer needs.
Customers will be able to sign up for this free, easy-to-use, service by visiting the Murata Power Solutions website and clicking on the PCN icon on the home page.
Commenting on the new tool, Rob Hill, Vice-President-Global Product Development, Murata Power Solutions said: “Keeping our customers fully updated regarding changes in the specifications or availability of various product types will assure them they have the latest information for use in their design and procurement processes.
Furthermore, the PCN tool and Product Discontinuation Notices / End of Life (EOL) notices will help foster a closer, more productive relationship between Murata Power Solutions and the specifiers of its products.”
