EBV Elektronik Introduces the Highly Flexible Cyclone IV GX Development Kit at ‘embedded world’

EBV Elektronik, an Avnet (NYSE: AVT) company and the leading specialist in EMEA semiconductor distribution, will present a new board at the ‘embedded world’ in Nuremberg: The Cyclone IV GX Development Kit is a solution for all low-cost, high volume transceiver applications.

Rudy Van Parijs, Vice President Technical Development at EBV Elektronik, explains the advantages of the new board: “The Cyclone IV GX Development Kit is for us the logical continuation of our very successful Snake-Bytes Reference Design. The flexibility of the board is particularly impressive. Through a sufficient amount of IO pins, the basis board itself offers numerous connection possibilities for add-on boards and user-specific hardware. Thus, customers are enabled to quickly start their own developments on our evaluation board and then can produce the first measurement results in their own application environment extremely fast – a real competitive advantage!”

The board, which consists of parts from Altera, National Semiconductor and Samsung, is of interest mainly to developers with target applications in the following areas:

• Factory Automation (especially Ethernet-based Fieldbus)

• Medical

• SPS Controls

• Hardware in Loop Simulation

• IO Expansion for PCIe-based Motherboards

Customers can learn more about this new board by contacting their local EBV Sales office or visiting us at the ‘embedded world’ from March 2–4, 2010 in Nuremberg at Hall 12, Booth 376. Until June 1, 2010, Cyclone IV GX Development Kit can be purchased at the special price of 99 €. More add on boards are available upon customer request.
