It also underscores our commitment as a company to staff development.” Steve Davies, technical director at Rogerstone is already a Six Sigma BlackBelt, and a third member of the management team is currently undergoing training.
The TT electronics site in Rogerstone itself gained AS9100 earlier in the year, certifying that it can support the manufacture of electronic systems that are integral to the safety of civil and military aircraft in flight.
Other accreditations held by the site include the TS16945:2002 automotive quality standard, the ISO14001:2004 environmental standard, BABT340, IPC-A-610D and ISO9001:2000. Chris Wixcey has over ten years experience of lean Six Sigma operation, and gained his Lean Practitioner qualification in 2007.
He has been with TT electronics for seven years, joining from Sony in Pencoed where he spent four years in manufacturing management positions at a plant manufacturing computer monitors and broadcast TV cameras. Previously, he spent three years with Hoover in Merthyr Tydfil and three years with News International in Maidenhead, also in manufacturing management. He started his career with the RAF.
